LITTLE RIVER – It was something new for the home fans of Little River football on Friday as they hosted Moundridge and found the visitors swarming the Little River offense and pulling off a huge 57-20 upset.


The loss drops Little River to 3-2 for the season as they get ready to go on the road next Friday to Herington. The Railroaders are 4-1 on the season after hammering Pretty Prairie 52-22 on Friday.


Against Moundridge, Little River only scored three times, once each in the first, second and fourth quarters and all on runs by Andrew Smith.


Moundridge was up 14-6 after one and doubled up Little River 28-14 by the halftime break.


Little River ran 77 offensive plays and recorded 20 first downs to just 36 snaps and 14 first downs for the Wildcats. Unfortunately, Moundridge used big plays to get the win as they scored eight times of which seven came from at least 20 yards out or more as the Wildcats out gained the Redskins 4-7 to 305. Little River did lose a fumble and threw a pair of interceptions.


Andrew Smith led the Little River offense with 186 yards rushing and 35 passing While Carter Stansbury ran for 66.
