LITTLE RIVER SPIKERS DOMINATE ON TUESDAY

Dismantled Both St. Xavier’s and Wichita Central Christian

LITTLE RIVER – It was no contest from the first volley on Tuesday as the Little River volleyball team host Junction City/St. Xaviers and Wichita Central Christian Academy and dismantled both teams with a pair of straight set victories.

Now 29-2 for the season, the defending state Class 1A Division I champion Lady Redskins are riding a 13-match win streak as they prepare to host the Wheat State League Tournament on Saturday, October 14.

In the first match with the Bluejays of St. Xavier’s, Little River dominated both sets in winning 25-1 and 25-3.

The Lady Redskins scored a whopping 21 service aces in the match with Kami Grasser scoring nine of those.

Alaina Eck and Aubrey Olander each had six kills with Eck also leading the team in digs with three. Kate Ellwood and Evie Look shared the directing of the offense with seven assists each.

Against Wichita Central Christian Academy in the nightcap, the Lady Redskins again dominated both sets in winning 25-6 and 25-11.

Ellwood led the offense by dishing out 13 assists, Adelynne Strecker pounded out six digs and Alaina Eck recorded seven kills in leading the stat sheets.
