LITTLE RIVER SPIKERS DOMINATE C/G INVITATIONAL

Wins 10 of 11 Sets

CANTON – The Little River volleyball team spent Saturday at the Canton/Galva Invitational where they dominated the competition, winning all five matches and ten-of-eleven sets.

Now 24-2 for the season, the Lady Redskins will be hosting Goessel on Tuesday.

Little River began the day with a straight set (25-17/25-8) win over Solomon that saw Kate Ellwood dish out 13 assists, Adelynne Strecker made 12 digs and Aubrey Olander record eight kills.

Playing host Canton/Galva in their second match of the day, the Lady Redskins took another straight set (25-11/25-11) win, taking both victories by the same score.

Kate Ellwood recorded another 12 assists, Ashley Stephenson made eight kills and Kami Grasser punched out 10 digs while also making five service aces.

Taking on Goessel in the third match of the day, Little River won in straight sets (25-20/25-16) as Grasser made another 15 digs and Evie Look handed out eight assists.

Little River thoroughly dominated Wichita Homeschool in the Invitational semi-final with Wichita Homeschool, winning 25-14/25-3.

Ellwood dished out 10 assists, Strecker scored seven digs, Grasser made six kills and Aubrey Olander recorded four blocks.

For the first time in two weeks, the Lady Redskins lost a set during a match when Halstead won the first set of the Invitational Championship match, 21-25. Little River powered back to score wins in sets two and three (25-17/25-16) for the match victory and the Invitational Championship.

Ellwood and Look shared the job of directing the offense as they dished out 17 and 12 assists, respectively for the Lady Redskins. Strecker and Grasser pounded out 17 and 10 digs each and Aubrey Olander led the team in both blocks with seven and kills with 14.
