REDSKINS BEAT GOESSEL BY 36 AT SUB-STATE

            LITTLE RIVER  = Coming off a pair of regular seasons ending losses, the Little River boys were looking to get a solid start in the Class 1A Division I sub-state playoff and they did just that with a 36-point, 65-29 pounding of Goessel on Tuesday.

            With the win, the sixth-seeded  Redskins extend their season record to 13-7 as they prep to battle third seeded Colony Crest on Monday, March 3. Colony Crest is 15-4 for the season after having a bye in the first round.

            The Redskins ran out to a 10-point, 17-7, lead by the end of the first quarter and took a 23-point, 37-14, advantage into the halftime break. In the final two quarters, Little River outscored Goessel 13-12 and 15-3 to earn the final 36-point, 65-29 victory.

            On the stat sheet, the Redskins outrebounded Goessel 25-18 and forced the Bluebirds into making 25 turnovers.

            Jaren Garrison led Little River in scoring with 15 while Jaxson Konen chipped in with 13 and both Lincoln Raleigh and Logan Renken each scored 10 points, respectively.  Renken, Blayne Baldetti and Logan Schubert each pulled down five rebounds to make it a team effort on the boards.
