REDSKINS EARN SPLIT TWO WITH C/G and ELYRIA

LITTLE RIVER – Last week the Little River boys split a key pair of games by hosting and beating Canton/Galva on Tuesday, 62-48, before traveling to Elyria Christian on Friday and being served a hard, fought 41-44 loss in overtime.

With the pair of wins, the Redskins are now 12-6 for the season entering the final full week of the season where they were scheduled, barring any weather hiccups, for road trips to county rival Inman on Tuesday and Olpe on Friday.

At Canton/Galva on Tuesday, the Redskins doubled up the Eagles to the tune of a 16-8 lead at the end of the first quarter before pulling away for a 22-point, 39-17 advantage at the halftime break. The Eagles chipped away at the lead to the point that Little River only led by 12, 47-35, by the end of the third quarter before the Redskins closed out for the final 14- point, 62-48 win.

Logan Renken, thanks to hitting six three-pointers, led all players with 24 points while Lincoln Raleigh scored 10 and Jaren Garrison just missed double digits with nine. Renken had a solid double-double with a game high 10 rebounds as well.

In the game with Elyria Christian on Friday, the Redskins were battling the fifth-ranked team in Class 1A Division II and ended up losing a hard fought three-point 41-44 game in overtime.

Both Jaren Garrison and Jaxson Konen had 11 points to lead the Redskins while Logan Renken came close to a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds.
