Now 21-0 for the season, the Lady Redskins will be  the  number one seed at the Class 1A Division I tournament beginning on Wednesday when they tangle with eighth-seed, Colony Crest (14-7). The winner will then play the winner of fourth-seed Montezuma/South Gray (21-2) and fifth-seed Quinter (20-3) in the semi-finals on Friday. The other side of the Class 1A Division I brackets open with second seeded Centralia (23-0) playing seventh-seed St. John/Hudson (18-5) plus third-seed Troy (21-1) battling sixth-seed Claflin/Central Plains (19-3).

Jumping out to a 14-point, 23-9, lead by the end of the first quarter, the Lady Redskins lead by 21, 44-23, going into the halftime break. Madison refused to go away and chipped away at the deficit, pulling back to within 18, 58-40, at the end of the third quarter before Little River held them off for the final 14-point, 71-57, victory.

It was the work inside the lane and on transition plays that propelled the Lady Redskins to the win as they held a 36-16 edge  in scoring in the paint and had a 23-2 advantage on scores from a transition play.

Arika Feldman had a team high of 21 points while Adelynne Strecker scored 19 and both Havana Olander and Evie Look each chipped in with nine. Feldman connected on three of the team’s six three-pointers while grabbing a team high six rebounds as well.

Jalynn Weakley had a game high 24 points for Madison while Jenna Thomsen scored 15.
