LADY REDSKINS ROLL IN FIRST 2 GAMES OF 2024/25

            LITTLE RIVER – Hitting the court for the first time in 2024/25, the Little River girls’ basketball team rolled to a pair of victories at the Goessel Bluebird Classic with a 50-10 win over Canton/Galva on Monday followed  by a 60-24 pounding of Goessel on Tuesday.

On Monday, the Lady Redskins scored a 40-point win over Canton/Galva as they led by as much as 35-4 at the halftime break before cruising in for the final 50-10 win.

As a team, Little River dominated by scoring 29 points off Lady Eagle turnovers and winning the transition points 15-0 thanks to forcing Canton/Galva into making 25 turnovers.

Individually, Arika Feldman led the team in scoring with 15 points, assists with four and blocks with three while both her and Adelynne Strecker grabbed four steals. Evie Look also reached double digits with 10 points and Avery Lafferty just missed with nine.

In the Tuesday game with Classic host Goessel, the Little River only led 11-6 at the end of the first quarter before putting 26 points in the books in the second quarter to power out to a commanding 37-9 halftime advantage. After pushing the lead to 56-16 at the end of three quarters the Lady Redskins finished off with the final 36-point victory.

As  in the game on Monday, Little River dominated the court, outscoring Goessel 29-8 from points off turnovers, earning a 20-4 and 16-4 advantage on transition and second chance points, while outscoring the host team 38-16 inside the paint.

Havana Olander led Little River in scoring with 18 points while Feldman reached double digits again with 11. Avery Lafferty came close to a double/double with seven points and nine rebounds while Feldman made 10 steals, giving her 14 in two games. Adelynne Strecker grabbed seven steals as well.
