ELBING – It was business as usual on Thursday as the Little River girls put the hammer to Class 2A and eighth ranked Beran Academy with a 53-20 win at the Berean Academy Girls Basketball Tournament.

Now 10-0 for the season, the Lady Redskins will battle Hutchinson Central Christian on Friday for the tournament championship. Central Christian will bring a 10-2 record to the game and a ranking of sixth in Class 1A Division II.

Against Berean Academy, the Lady Redskins played to a 10-5 lead at the end of the first quarter before extending the advantage to 12 at 22-10 going into the halftime break. Coming out of the intermission, Little River out scored Berean Academy 31-10 to earn the final 33-point victory.

Scoring for the Lady Redskins came from Alaina  Eck, and the Olander sisters Havanna and Aubry as Eck had a game high 15 while Havanna scored a dozen and Aubrey just missed double digits with eight.

Aubrey Olander also just missed a double double as she grabbed a game high 10 rebound. The Lady Redskins dominated the boards with 16 offensive and 20 defensive rebounds. Aubrey Olander was helped in the paint by Saelyn Raleigh pulling down six rebounds and both Arika Feldman and Havanna Olander recording five rebounds each. Eck had a game high of six steals on defense.
