ELBING – On Friday evening, the top ranked team in Class 1A Division I girls, the Little River Lady Redskins, won the Berean Academy Invitational and remained unbeaten with a 51-24 win over Hutchinson Central Christian.

With the win the Lady Redskins are now 11-0 for the season and face a busy week ahead as they go on the road Tuesday to Solomon before returning home to host Centre on Friday and Goessel in a weather make-up game on Saturday.

Against Central Christian, Little River took a four-point, 11-7, lead at the end of the first quarter and powered it out to a 20-point, 35-15, advantage heading into the halftime break. After extending the lead to 26 at 47-21 at the end of the third quarter the Lady Redskins settled in for the final 27-point victory.

The victory was helped by the fact that the Lady Redskins connected on 54% of all their shots from the field which helped make up for committing 17 turnovers.

Aubrey Olander led the Little River offense with 18 points while both Alaina Eck and Havanna Olander each chipped in with 11.

While Arika Feldman may have only scored one three-pointer in the game, she dominated the stat sheet by leading the Lady Redskins in assists by dishing out four, rebounds in grabbing eight while blocking five shots and tying with Alaine Eck for the team high in defensive steals with three.

Three Lady Redskins, seniors Aubrey Olander and Alaina Eck along with freshman Arika Feldman were named to the all-tourney team.
