LITTLE RIVER GIRLS ROLL INTO STATE FINALS UNBEATEN

COLBY > After rolling past Olpe on Thursday, 61-44, and then beating Centralia, 50-42, in the semifinals, the Little River girls are just one win away from a Class 1A Division I state title.

 

As the number one seed, the Lady Redskins are now 25-0 as they get ready to tangle with sixth seed Frankfort (22-3) at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday for the state championship.

 

Frankfort earned a 51-34 win on Thursday over third seed St. John/Hudson before slipping past second seed Montezuma/South Gray County on Friday, 48-31, to make the state title game.

 

For the Lady Redskins, on Thursday in the win over Olpe, they were led by Arika Feldman and Alaina Eck as they scored 19 and 18 points, respectively.

 

In Friday’s win over Centralia, Eck led the team in scoring with 20 points while Feldman hit for 16. Eck was solid under pressure as she sank 12-of-16 free throws in the game.

 

The Olander sisters did yeoman work in the paint and on the boards as Aubrey led the team by grabbing eight rebounds and Havana pulled down seven while Feldman grabbed six. Eck had the most steals with five and Aubrey Olander batted away four blocked shots with Feldman swatting away three.
