LITTLE RIVER BURIES GOESSEL 58-0

            LITTLE RIVER – Long runs, after long runs propelled the Little River football team to a commanding 58-0 win at home over Goessel on Friday.

            Little River put 32 points on the scoreboard in the first quarter and then followed up with 26 more in the second to point rule the Bluebirds at halftime.

            Both Logan Renken and Kyler Bergkamp scored on runs of 20- and 22-yards in the first quarter while Logan Schubert added a score on a 55-yard punt return and Jaxson Konen threw for another score to Blayne Baldetti.

            Schubert added an eight-yard scoring run to his day in the second quarter just as Renken scored again as well. After the team recorded a safety, the Redskins finished out the scoring for the game when Jaxson Konen rambled into the end zone from 34 yards out.

            Little River totaled 189 yards in offense on just 22 plays with Jaxson Konen, Logan Renken, and Kyler Bergkamp all rushing for over 30 yards.

            Defensively, the Redskins held Goessel to a meager 43 yards on 36 offensive plays, thanks to Jhett Ewertt’s team leading seven tackles.

            Ranked number three in 8-Man, Division I and now supporting a 4-0 record on the season the Redskins will travel to Canton/Galva on Friday, October 4 to battle a youthful but feisty Eagle team.
