LITTLE RIVER BOYS LOSE TO PRETTY PRAIRIE

Renken, Konen, Smith lead Offense

BURRTON – In their second-round game at the Burrton Tournament on Thursday, the Little River boys struggled  with turnovers and fouls in losing a 55-63 game to Pretty Prairie.

 

Only trailing by two, 18-20, at the end of the first quarter, the Redskins only managed to put eight points on the board in the second quarter while Pretty Prairie put up 17 to put Little River down by 11, 26-37, heading to the halftime break.

 

Pulling back to within five at 40-45 by the end of the third quarter, Little River could not keep up in the fourth quarter and ended up losing by eight.

 

While Little River worked well in the paint with grabbing 27 rebounds of which 14 were on the offensive glass, they also committed 13 turnovers and were whistled for 18 fouls.

 

Logan Renken and Jaxon Konen led the Redskins by each connecting on three three-pointers with Renken leading the team overall in scoring with 15 and Konen finished with 14. Andrew Smith also reached double digits with 12.

 

Both Renken and Ty Janette led the work in the paint with each pulling down six rebounds, while Blaine Baldetti grabbed five despite playing with foul issues and fouling out late in the game.
