Patrick, Wedel, Unruh, Kaminkow lead Moundridge

MOUNDRIDGE – On Friday the youthful Moundridge girls basketball team hosted another youthful team in Elyria Christian and raced out to an early lead before closing out on a decisive 43-point, 58-15 win.
Racing out to a 12-point, 15-3 lead by the end of the first quarter, the Lady Wildcats pushed their advantage out to 27 points at 32-5 at the halftime break and then added 13 more points to the scorebook in each of the third and fourth quarters while holding Elyria to just 10 to earn the final 43-point victory.
The Moundridge defense forced Elyria into 24 turnovers including making 19 steals while connecting on nine three-pointers when on the offensive end.
Addy Patrick led the Lady Wildcats in scoring with 12 as one of four reaching double digits with Kaelyn Wedel scoring eleven and both Macy Kaminkow and Cammi Unruh each hitting for 10. Both Patrick and Wedel connected on three three-pointers.
On Tuesday the Lady Wildcats return to the competitive court in the Moundridge Early Season Tournament where they will play host to Hillsboro.
