Patrick Makes 5 3-Pointers, 5 score Double Digits

OXFORD > The Moundridge girls took a huge step toward continued success for the 2023-24 season on Tuesday by returning from the holiday break and went on the road to pound Oxford to the tune of a 68-point, 94-26 win.

Flying out to a 31-point, 36-5 lead by the end of the first quarter, the Lady Wildcats extended their lead to 43 at 56-13 by the time the two teams headed to the halftime break. Coming out of the break and playing many of the subs, Moundridge still outscored outmanned Oxford, 38-13 in the final two quarters in cruising to the decisive victory.

Addy Patrick had a huge night for the Lady Wildcats as she scored a team high 21 points all in the first half thanks to connecting on five three-pointers. Cammi Unruh pitched in with 11 points in the first quarter and finished with 18. Halle Hecox made a pair of three pointers and scored 13 while both Haylee Jantz and Macy Kaminkow also reached double digits with 10 points each. Eleven Lady Wildcats put at least a pair of points in the scorebook during the game.

As a team, Moundridge made 26 two-pointers, connected on 11 three-pointers plus hit nine free throws while Oxford managed just six two-pointers, eight free throws and a pair of threes.

Now 5-2 for the season, the Lady Wildcats will be back on the road Friday at Marion.
