LADY WILDCATS LOSE TO INMAN IN SEDGWICK TOURNEY FINAL

SEDGWICK – In a battle of county schools, the Moundridge girls dropped a heartbreaker to Inman in the finals of the Sedgwick Invitational, losing 30-42.

Now 8-3 for the season, the Lady Wildcats will be back on the competitive hardwood Tuesday on the road at Ell-Saline before getting a rematch with Inman at Inman on Friday.

The Lady Wildcats held a five-point, 20-15 advantage at the end of the first quarter and pushed it out to a six-point lead at 26-20 heading into the halftime break.

Coming out of the intermission the Lady Teutons put up back-to-back 11-point quarters while holding Moundridge to just 12 points total, giving Inman the rally and final four-point victory.

Hattie Hecox and Addy Patrick both connected on four three-pointers in the game to lead the Lady Wildcats offense, with Hattie ending up with the team high of 16 and Addy finishing with 12 points. Hattie Hecox tied with Macy Kaminkow for the team high of six rebounds.

While she may have only scored five points, Cammi Unruh had a strong overall game by dishing out four assists, grabbing four rebounds, making four steals on defense, and finding a way to block a pair of Inman shots.

Both Unruh and Addy Patrick were named to the all-tournament team.
