LADY WILDCATS HAMMER HERINGTON FOR WIN

Patrick, Unruh, Kaminkow lead Offense

MOUNDRIDGE – The season is not over for the Moundridge girls as they hammered Herington for a 75-26 win on Monday in the first round of their Class 2A sub-state.

With  the win, the Lady Wildcats moved to 18-3 on the season. As the second seed in the Marion Sub-State, Moundridge will now play third seed Berean Academy (16-5) in the semi-finals. The  other semi-finals has a matchup between top seed Hillsboro (20-1) and fifth seed Inman (15-6). The Lady Wildcats

The Lady Wildcats defeated Berean Academy by nine in mid-February and has beaten Inman two out of three meetings this season, while one of their three losses came from Hillsboro in the second game of the season in December.

As for the game Monday, Moundridge took a commanding 28-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended it to 53-11 by the halftime break before cruising in for the final 49-point victory.

Addy Patrick had the team high of 19 points thanks to three three-pointers. Both Cammi Unruh with 15 and Macy Kaminkow with 10 also reached double digits. Kaminkow nearly had a double double as she had the team high in rebounds with nine.

Haylee Jantz connected on three threes as well as the team connected on nine in total.

Both Kaelyn Wedel and Aspyn Stos grabbed seven rebounds as the team in total gathered 43, including 18 on the offensive end of the court.
