LADY WILDCATS GO 7-2 IN VOLLEYBALL

Last week was busy for the Moundridge volleyball team, with duals on Tuesday and Thursday before playing five matches and placing second on Saturday at the Marion Spikefest.
On Tuesday, the Lady Wildcats traveled to Bennington and won both matches in straight sets. Winning the first match 25-12, 25-18 before scoring straight-set wins in the second match as well, 32-30, 25-12.
Hosting powerhouse and rival Inman on Thursday, Moundridge lost the first match in straight sets before bouncing back to win match two in three sets.
Saturday, the Lady Wildcats traveled to Marion for the Spikefest, where they won all three pool-play matches over Lyons, Marion, and Eureka.
Moundridge followed up with a straight-set victory over Berean Academy in the semifinals before losing in straight sets to Halstead in the finals to finish second.
Both Hattie Hecox and Mackie Conkling were named to the all-tournament team.
The Lady Wildcats have just one match this week when they play host to Sterling on Tuesday.

Lady Wildcats won twice
Match 1 – won 2-0 = 25-15, 25-18.
Match 2 – won 2-0 = 32-30, 25-12.
SEPT 17 hosting Inman
Lady Wildcats split, 1-1
Match 1 – lost 0-2 = 26-28, 22-25.
Match 2 – won 2-1 = 25-13, 22-25, 25-20.
SEPT 19 at Marion Spikefest
Lady Wildcats finished 4-1, 2nd
Match 1 vs. Lyons – won 2-0 = 25-12, 25-11
Match 2 vs. Marion – won 2-0 = 25-11, 25-18.
Match 3 vs. Eureka – won 2-0 = 25-12, 25-7.
Match 4 (semifinals) vs. Berean Academy - won 2-0 = 25-14, 25-8.
Match 5 FINALS vs. Halstead – lost 0-2 = 16-25, 19-25.
