LADY WILDCATS BOUNCE INMAN, MAKE SUB-STATE FINALS

UNRUH SCORES 20

By Staff

The defending Class 2A state champions are now just one game from another trip to the state tournament as the Moundridge girls defeated county rival Inam, 48-35, on Tuesday in their sub-state quarterfinals.

Now 22-2 and still number one in 2A, the Lady Wildcats will battle Hillsboro on Friday for the sub-state championship and a trip to the Class 2A state tournament in Emporia. Moundridge defeated Hillsboro 38-27 early in the season on December 11.

The Moundridge win came despite poor shooting as the Lady Wildcats hit just 10-of-41 two-pointers and five-of-fourteen three-pointers.

Cammi Unruh led the team by scoring 20 while Hattie Hecox and Macy Kaminkow each grabbed six rebounds.
