MOUNDRIDGE – Since starting the season 3-2 in their first five games, the Moundridge girls have now gone 13-1, got themselves ranked tenth in Class 2A, became Heart of America League champions and own a current eight game win streak after winning three of three outings this week.
On Tuesday, the Lady Wildcats scored an 18-point, 51-33, win on the road at Sedgwick before coming home to beat Remington by nine, 57-48, on Thursday and then finishing out the week with a nine-point win over Berean Academy.
The Lady Wildcats are now 16-3 for the season, find themselves ranked tenth in Class 2A and with the win Friday, earned themselves a league championship trophy. They will finish out the regular season on Tuesday at home against Sterling.
Moundridge will begin sub-state play in the Marion group on Monday, February 26. Other teams in the sub-state besides Moundridge and Marion will be Inman, Hillsboro, Ell-Saline, Cottonwood Falls/Chase County, Berean Academy and Herington.

MOUNDRDIGE LADY WILDCATS at Sedgwick on Tuesday
Against Sedgwick on the road Tuesday, the Lady Wildcats led by six, 9-3, at the end of the first quarter and at halftime, 24-18 before moving ahead by 10 at the end of the third quarter and finishing out with the final 18-point victory of 51-33.
Cammi Unruh and Hattie Hecox both reached double digits in scoring with Unruh leading the team with 18 and Hecox scoring a dozen. Addy Patrick just missed with nine. Macy Kaminkow did the heavy lifting on the boards with a team high eight rebounds.

MOUNDRIDGE LADY WILDCATS at Remington on Thursday
At home on Thursday with Remington, the Lady Wildcats led by just three, 20-17, at the end of the first quarter and only by a pair, 32-30 going into the halftime break. Outscoring the visitors in the final two quarters, 25-18, gave the Lady Wildcats their final nine point, 57-48, victory.
Macy Kaminkow led the team in scoring with 17 while Addy Patrick connected on four three-pointers and finished with 15 plus Cammi Unruh scored 11. Kaminkow scored a double double as she also had a team high 10 rebounds. while Unruh recorded five blocked shots.

MOUNDRIDGE LADY WILDCATS hosting Berean Academy on Friday
Closing out the week on Friday hosting Berean Academy, Moundridge won the Heart of America League Championship with a nine-point 39-30 win.
Going up by five, 13-8, at the end of the first quarter and then holding a 22-15 halftime advantage, the Lady Wildcats cruised in for the final nine-point victory.
Hatie Hecox has a huge game as she not only led the Lady Wildcats in scoring with 13 she also led the team in rebounds with seven and blocked shots with four. Cammie Unruh chipped in with nine points.
