LADY WILDCAT SPIKERS SPLIT 4 MATCHES

Take 2 from Douglass, Chaparral – Lose Pair to Bennington

MOUNDRIDGE – It was a busy week for the Moundridge volleyball team as they had a pair of matches with Bennington on Tuesday and a triangular with Douglass and Chaparral on Thursday, winning two and losing two in the process.


Now 10-10 for the season, the Lady Wildcats will go on the road on Tuesday, September 19 to Sedgwick.


Against Bennington, Moundridge lost the first match 0-2, losing set one 17-25 and set two 19-25.


Halle Hecox and Cammi Unruh led the offensive attacks with 13 and seven assists, respectively. Hattie Hecox led the team in digs with 11 while Cammi Unruh punched out 10 and Addysen Patrick dug nine. Unruh also led the team in kills with 7.


In the second match with Bennington, the Lady Wildcats lost, only this time they went three sets with Moundridge winning the first set 25-19 before dropping the second two sets, 22-25 and 24-26.


Cammi Unruh had a monster match by leading the team in digs with 22, Kills with 13, and blocks with 2 while tying with Halle Hecox in dishing out 14 assists. Other highlights were the team recording 80 digs in the match as Hattie Hecox and Addysen Patrick ach had 15, Kaelyn Wedel had 13 and Halle Hecox had 11. Hattie Hecox made nine kills and Kaelyn Wedel scored seven of the teams 15 service aces.


On Thursday, Douglass and Chaparral came to town where the Lady Wildcats out dueled Douglass in three sets, winning 2-1 on set scores of 22-25, 25-19, and 26-24.


Against Douglass, Halle Hecox passed out 15 assists with Cammi Unruh dishing out nine. Unruh also led Moundridge in digs with 21 with Hattie Hecox recording 13, Halle Hecox and Kaelyn Wedel each had nine and Addysen Patrick chipped in with seven. Wedel scored 10 kills as well.


The match with Chaparral also went three sets before the Lady Wildcats scored a 2-1 win with set scores of 20-25, 25-13, and 25-12. No individual stats were available.
