Crain, French Win Gold

NICKERSON – The Smoky Valley girls wrestling team took to the road on Friday and finished third at the Nickerson Invitational while bringing home a pair of division gold medals.
As a team, the Lady Vikings scored 137 points which placed them third in the team standings behind invitational winner Pratt with 186 and Hoisington at 158. Salina Central finished fourth with 125 points and Stockton had 83 for the top five team finishers. Fourteen teams were competing at the meet.
Kenzlie Crain, wrestling at 120, went 5-0 and won the division as did Kasyn French at 140 after going 3-0 for the day.
Both Roxana Riedel and Keira Mullen, wrestling at 110 and 135, went 4-1 for the day and placed second in their divisions while Kate Griffin went 4-1 and placed third at 170.
