Beat Ellinwood, Haven, Lyons, Lose to Hillsboro

LINDSBORG – The Smoky Valley volleyball team won a pair of matches at home on Monday and split a pair of matches on the road at Hillsboro on Tuesday.

Against Ellinwood on Monday, the Lady Vikings won in straight sets 25-19 and 25-20.

Adrian Hazelwood led the team with 20 assists and Breanne Peters topped in digs with nine. Hope Duncan made 10 kills as well.

Scoring another straight set win in match two on Monday, Smoky Valley defeated Haven 25-19 and 25-12.

Hazelwood dished out 19 assists, Hope Duncan made 11 kills and Ceeley Friesen pounded out nine digs.

On the road at Hillsboro on Tuesday, the Lady Vikings easily took care of Lyons in straight sets 25-11 and 25-19 before losing to host Hillsboro in straight sets 17-25 and 17-25. No individual stats were made available.

Now 14-6 for the 2023 season, the Lady Vikings will be at home on Tuesday, September 19 with Cheney and Hoisington.
