LADY TEUTONS WIN LEAGUE TITLE

MOUNDRIDGE – On Friday, the Inman track/field  teams traveled cross county to Moundridge for the Heart of America League meet and came home with a convincing team title for the Lady Teutons while the Teuton boys finished tenth.

 

The Lady Teutons scored 140 team points to take the team title well ahead of runner-up Moundridge who scored 90. Remington, Bennington, and  Sterling rounded out the top five of the 10 team field.

 

Four Lady Teutons won individual titles as Madilyn Heflin won the 300-meter hurdles, Katie Nichols scored a win in the triple jump, Chloe Schmidt won the discus and Taylor Froese had the best in the shot put.

 

In addition to the wins, Madelyn Brunk in the 800 meters, Brooklyn Black in the 100-meter hurdles, Katie Nichols in the high jump plus both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams all finished second.

 

In six field events, the Lady Teutons earned 12 top-six finishes.

 

For the Teuton boys, they only scored 19 points to finish tenth as host Moundridge scored a one-point, 104-103 team title win over Berean Academy.

 

The best finish for the Inman boys came from Malachi Brunk who finished third in the javelin and a fourth-place finish by the Teutons 4x800 meter relay quartet.

 

The Inman track/field teams will travel to Eureka on Thursday, May 16 for their Class 2A State Regional Meet.
