LADY TEUTONS TAKE 1ST, TEUTON BOYS 2ND AT MARION

Inman Earns 11 Gold Medals

MARION – On the road at a six-team track/field invitational in Marion but hosted by Centre, the Inman boys and girls earned a total of 11 first-place medals while finishing first and second in the team standings.

 

The Lady Teutons dominated the girls’ meet as they came home with 10 first-place medals and a total of 28 top-five finishes while winning the girls’ team title with 203 points. Berean Academy finished a distant second with 131.5 and Remington had 128 while Hillsboro, Centre and Marion rounded out the six teams participating.

 

Brooklyn Black had a huge meet as she won four first-place medals in the 100 meters, both the 100- and 300-meter hurdles as well as a leg on the champion 4x100 meter relay team.

 

The Lady Teutons won five of the seven field events with Taylor Froese taking first in both the shot put and discus, Chloe Schmidt threw the farthest in the javelin, and Raynee Eddy won the triple jump with Suttyn Harris taking first in the long jump.

 

In the relays, the Inman girls won both the 4x100 meter  and 4x400 meter relays.

 

For the Teuton boys, they finished second with 104 points, well behind invitational winner Berean Academy with 259.

 

Riley Roots earned the lone first-place medal by winning the 3,200 meters after taking second in the 1,600. The Teutons finished second in eight events including Cade Osborne in both the long jump and triple jump, Nathan Reinecker in the shot put, Cooper Wiens in the 800 meters, Malachi Brunk in both the 110- and 300-meter hurdles plus the 4x800 meter relay quartet.

 

The Teutons will be back on the competitive track on Friday at Sterling.
