LADY TEUTONS SWEEP TRINITY

WIN 17-2, 17-8!!

HUTCHINSON – On Tuesday, the Inman softball team went down the road 20 miles to Hutchinson and returned home with a dominating two-game sweep of a doubleheader over Hutchinson Trinity, winning 17-2 and 17-8!!

In game one, Taylor Froese drove home five runs  in the Lady Teutons 17-2 victory, including a first inning double which scored  three runs plus another double in the fourth.

After scoring four in the first, the Lady Teutons added five in the second, three in the third and five in the fifth to run-rule Trinity in four innings at 17-2.

Elle Thimmesch, Savannah Smith, and Lyla Levin scored four times in the game while Froese came across for three runs as well.

Levin worked the mound for the Lady Teutons, where she needed just 65 pitches to hold Trinity to just three hits, a pair of walks and a pair of runs while striking out six.

In game two, Trinity gave a bit more trouble for the Lady Teutons though they still dominated the game in the end with a nine-run, 17-8 win.

The Lady Teutons scored five in  the first, four in the second and three in each of  the third and fourth innings before finishing out  with two  more  in the sixth. Trinity did score three in the first and added four in the third to at one point pull to within five at 12-7.

Taylor Froese, Marlee Ballard, Lyla Levin, and Savannah Smith each had a pair of hits while Elle Thimmesch, Smith and Froese all scored four times in the game.

Alexis Noone pitched for Inman and used 127 pitches to get the win.

The Lady Teutons returns to the  diamond on Friday, April 12 when they play host to Bennington.
