Harris Erupts for 26 points

WICHITA – Last Thursday, the Inman girls closed out the pre-Christmas part of the 2023-24 schedule by going on the road to Wichita where they brought home a one point, 46-45 win over Wichita Trinity.

The Lady Teutons fell behind by seven at 5-12 by the end of the first quarter before bouncing back to take a one-point, 20-19 advantage into the halftime break.

After pushing out to a five-point lead, 35-30, at the end of the third quarter, Inman held off a Trinity rally and made key free throws in the fourth to gain the final one-point, 46-45 victory.

Lady Teuton head coach Matt Harris reflected on the win by saying, “We made free throws in the fourth quarter to secure and seal the win. It was a good win against a tough team. Kenna (Woods) led us in rebounds from her guard position.”

The Lady Teutons grabbed a team total of 38 rebounds with 13 coming off the offensive boards and 25 grabbed on the defensive glass with Kenna Woods leading the team with 11.

Suttyn Harris was most of the offense as she scored 26 points and just missed a double double with nine rebounds. Kenna Woods, Taelyn Friesen and Morgan Froese all chipped in with five points each.

Now 3-3 for the month of December, the Lady Teutons will return to the competitive court after the Christmas break on Tuesday, January 2 when they host Sterling.
