LADY TEUTONS DOMINAT AT LYONS

LYONS – On Tuesday, the Inman track/field teams traveled to Lyons for a six-team meet and the Lady Teutons dominated the girl’s division while the Teuton boys finished fourth.

 

Rolling up 222 team points the Lady Teutons dominated the girls’ division, well ahead of second place Halstead with 94.

 

The Lady Teutons won nine first-place medals, which included five in the field events.

 

Taylor Froese led the Inman girls by winning both the discus and shot put with Chloe Schmidt throwing the top toss in the javelin. Suttyn Harris had the best jump in the long  jump and Raynee Eddy had the best triple jump.

 

On the track, the Lady Teutons swept the hurdle events with Brooklyn  Black winning the 100-meter hurdles and Madilyn Heflin took first in the 300-meter hurdles. Inman also won both the 4x100 and 4x800 meter relays.

 

In addition to the nine  first place finishes, the Lady Teutons had  athletes finish either second or third in 15 events, including the top three at the shot put and the top two in five events  total.

 

For the Teuton boys, Malachi Brunk had a big day as he scored wins in both the 300-meter hurdles and javelin plus the 4x400, and 4x800 meter relay teams scored wins as well.

 

Cooper Wiens, Tyler Martisko, and Riley Roots all ran second in the distance runs of 800-, 1,600-, and 3,200-meters.
