LADY TEUTON SPIKERS SPLIT PAIR WITH SEDGWICK

Now 19-3 for Season

INMAN – It was a tale of two matches at home on Tuesday for the Inman volleyball team as they split a pair of matches with Sedgwick, winning the first before losing the second, ending an 11-match win streak.

With the split, the Lady Teutons are now 19-3 for the season as they roll into Marion for a pair of matches on Thursday while looking to get back in the win column.

In the first match, Sedgwick got the best of Inman with an 11-25 win in set one before the Lady Teutons bounced back and took a two-point, 26-24 victory in set two and then won the match with a 25-20 win in set three.

“Our first match was the best match and a better presentation of who we are as a team,” explained Lady Teuton head coach Kristi Froese. “W were dealt with a setback due to an injury so had some last-minute changes being put in place and I though the girls handled it really well.”

Sophomore Suttyn Harris led the Lady Teutons in the first match with ten kills, four blocks and three assists while Kambrey Woods dished out 22 assists.

The second match was all Sedgwick as they humbled the Lady Teutons in straight sets, 19-25 and 15-25.

Speaking of the loss, coach Froese added, “Our second match, a totally different team came to play. I think the girls let their guard down knowing they had just beaten Sedgwick and played almost contently with that fact. We had a couple of runs where I thought we could pull away and take the lead, but they just allowed every mistake to kind of take over and we could not overcome those. Sedgwick came back in the second match with a vengeance and wanted the win more than we did.”

Kambrey Woods passed out another 13 assists and Suttyn Harris made five kills with Madelyn Brunk pitching in with seven digs.
