LADY REDSKINS SPLIT WITH STERLING

WIN 11-4, LOSE 0-10

STERLING – On Friday, the Little River scored their fifth straight game with an 11-4  win on the road at Sterling before taking a 0-10 shutout loss in the nightcap for their first loss of the 2024 season.

In the first game, the Lady Redskins fell behind 1-2 after the first inning before they poured eight runs onto the scoreboard in the top of the fourth and another two in the top of the fifth to power their way to an 11-4 win.

Ella Stansbury had a pair of hits, pair of runs batted in and scored twice to lead the Little River offensive attack.

Kinsley Wohletz  needed 125 pitches over seven innings to get the win as she gave up just a pair of hits, walked six and struck out eight.

IN the second game of the doubleheader, the Lady Redskins were held to just one hit in taking their first loss on the season 0-10.

Maddison Crotlinger had the lone hit for the Lady Redskins while Jailyn Millar pitched for Little River and walked just two while striking out five.

Now 5-1 on the season, the Lady Redskins will be on the road at Ell-Saline on Tuesday before closing out the week by hosting Hutchinson Trinity on Friday.
