LINCOLN – On Friday, the Little River girls basketball team went on the road to Lincoln for their 2023-24 season opener and returned home with a complete whitewash of the home team in winning by 83-points, 86-3.

The Lady Redskins shutdown Lincoln in the first quarter in the process of racing out to a whopping 32-0 lead, before winding it down a bit and scoring just a dozen points in the second quarter while Lincoln scored their only points of the game, giving Little River a huge 41-point, 44-3 lead at the halftime break.

Little River then added 21 more points in each of the final two quarters as the defense continued to hold Lincoln scoreless, ending the game with the final 83-point victory.

Hitting on 65% of their two-pointers helped the Lady Redskins in the overwhelming performance though it helped that the defense recorded 30 steals in the game and had 30 rebounds of which 19 were on the offensive end.

Alaina Eck had a huge leading the team in scoring with 23, assists with five, and steals with eight. Aubrey Olander just missed a double-double as she pulled down a team leading 10 rebounds to go with nine points. Eleven different Lady Redskins recorded a steal in the game while eleven of twelve girls put points in the scorebook.

The Lady Redskins will spend next week playing in the Goessel Bluebird Classic where they are scheduled to battle Elyria Christian on Tuesday.
