LADY EAGLES ADVANCE IN 2-1A REGIONALS

Friesen Throws 1-Hitter in 10-0 Win.

MARION – On Tuesday, the Canton/Galva softball team road the arm of Jordan Friesen in winning their first-round game against Hutchinson Trinity in the Class 2-1A Regionals.

Friesen needed just 68 pitches over five innings to hold Trinity to just one hit and no runs while walking only two and striking out eight.

The Lady Eagles scored three times in the first inning, five in the second and two more in the third in getting the win.

Raegan Hawkinson had two hits in the game including a two-run home run while Friesen hit for a double and Jayden Orth had a triple to lead the Lady Eagles hitting.

The Lady Eagles will now battle county rival Inman on Wednesday in the regional semi-finals. Inman beat Canton/Galva twice in mid-April.
