LADY BULLPUPS MAKE STATE VOLLEYBALL

MCPHERSON – The McPherson volleyball team came out of their Class 4A sub-state tournament with a pair of wins to qualify for the state tournament.

Now 29-9 for the season, the Lady Bullpups are seeded number three in Class 4A and will play in pool two beginning on Friday and extending into Saturday, October 27-28 in Hutchinson.

Also playing in pool two will be second seed Circle/Towanda, Louisburg, and Holton while pool one with include top seed Clearwater, Eudora, Andale and Shawnee Mission Bishop Miege.

At sub-state in Towanda, the Lady Bullpups stumbled in their first set with Rose Hill, losing 15-25 before bouncing back to win the next two sets 25-21 and 25-11 for the match victory.

McPherson closed out their trip ticket to state in the second match by cruising pas Ulysses in straight sets (25-13/25-17).

Among the stat leaders for the Lady Bullpups in their two matches were Alex Romero with 55 assists, Brook Doile and Ava Romero punching out 29 digs each, and Ava Romero making 18 kills.
