McPherson Sweeps 3 of 4 Divisions

By Staff
GODDARD – On Tuesday, the McPherson girls tennis team traveled south to play in a quad at Goddard with Goddard and Wichita Independent where the Lady Bullpups took first by winning both singles divisions and one of the two doubles divisions.
“We have been in some tournaments with large draws, so it was nice to go to a quad for a change,” pointed out Lady Bullpup head coach Tyler Brown. “It had enough teams to get three matches in and we were pretty much finished by the time one of our practices would have lasted. I felt like this was a great follow up to the last few events we had played in.”
The Sandbo sisters dominated the singles divisions as both Maryn and Kyndall went 3-0 to give Maryn the win at number one singles and Kyndall a win in number two doubles.
McPherson’s other super sister pair, Riggs and Brodie Kuhn also went 3-0 and won number on doubles.
Coach Brown finished his reflections on the meet by saying, “The girls took care of business by winning another tournament. This was our final regular season tournament as we now start prepping for the league and regionals meets followed hopefully with the state meet.”
Next up for the Lady Bullpups will be the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Meet in Windfield on Monday, October 2.
