LADY BULLPUP SPIKERS CLOSE SEASON WITH 2 WINS

MCPHERSON – On Tuesday, the McPherson volleyball team closed out their 2023 regular season with a pair of straight set wins at home over Wellington and El Dorado.


With the pair of wins, the Lady Bullpups finish with a mark of 27-9 as they now concentrate on preparing for the Class 4A Sub-State Tournament on Saturday, October 21 in Towanda hosted by Circle High School. McPherson is scheduled to battle Rose Hill in their first match.


IN the first match of the event, the Lady Bullpups took care of Wellington in straight sets, 25-16 and 25-17, before beating El Dorado in straight sets as well, winning 25-18 and 25-11.


Alex Romero led McPherson on the court by dishing out 40 assists for the day.


Other stat leaders for the two matches included Haely Hagemann leading the team in both blocks (4) and kills (13). Ava Romero topped the team in punching out digs with 10 and Brooke Doile made a sparkling 12 service aces.
