LADY BULLPUP GOLFERS TAKE 4TH & 2ND!

MCPHERSON – It has been a busy weekend for the McPherson girls golf team as they played in Hesston at the Buhler Invitational and finished 4th on Friday before heading south to the Andale Invitational on Monday where they finished 2nd.

At the Buhler Invitational, the Lady Bullpups placed fourth as a team with an overall score of 365. Maize, Hays, and Wellington finished in the top three spots with a total of 16 teams competing.

Individually, Brodie Kuhn continued having a strong season as she finished fourth out of 97 golfers while shooting a school record 77. Both Reese Elliott and Macy Rinker finished in the top twenty-five as Elliott shot a 93 for 22nd and Rinker scored a 96 which was good for 25th.

On Monday, the Lady Bullpups played in the 13-team Andale Invitational and finished 2nd as a team with an overall score of 368. Andover won the invite with a 358 while Wellington, Augusta, and Buhler rounded out the top five in the team standings.

“The conditions were tough with the wind, speed of the greens, and some thick rough,” noted head coach Treg Fawl. “I am proud of the way we battled.”

Brodie Kuhn again led the Lady Bullpups with another high finish to a tournament as she placed 2nd with an 84. Reese Elliott continued her solid performances by finishing 4th with an 88 and Caitlyn Pearson tied for 10th by shooting a personal record 95.

Coach Fawl concluded his reflections on the invitational by adding, “I am very proud of how our team competed today. We are playing consistent while building momentum heading into post-season play.”

Next up for the Lady Bullpup golfers will be on Thursday, September 28 when they compete in Hutchinson.
