McPHERSON – The McPherson Middle School girls tennis team continued their dominance of the 2023 season as they hosted and dismantled Buhler Prairie Hills Middle School 16-2.

In singles, five of the six girls won both their matches as Stephanie Fonseca-Gonzalez won both her matches 6-0. Overall, the Junior Lady Pups won 11 of 12 matches.

It was much the same in doubles as McPherson won five of six matches with Stephanie Fonseca-Gonzalez and Azul Palacios winning a match 6-0.

“It was a great win for our lower group of girls tonight,” noted Junior Lady Pup head coach Paul Reichenberger. “With each of them playing four matches, they got a ton of experience tonight and I was proud of how they battled. The girls went 3-0 in tiebreakers which shows grit and will to win.”

On Tuesday, September 26 the Junior Lady Pups will host their home tournament before tangling with Haysville/Campus on Thursday, September 28, also at home.
