YOUTH TO LEAD TEUTON HOOPSTERS

By Staff
INMAN – The Inman boys basketball program went through some growing pains a year ago with a sudden change in coaches and then having players leave the team while they finished just 7-14 overall and 0-9 in Heart of America play.
A fresh start begins in 2024/25 starting with new head coach Cody Liebelt as he looks to rebuild the Teuton program back into the program that popped out 18-4 seasons back-to-back two and three years past.
What Inman does have is a solid core of three players who started in the 2023/24 season, beginning with junior Tyler Martisko who averaged 2.4 points, 1.3 assists, and 2.75 rebounds per game.

Combine Martisko with Carston Seidl and Malachi Brunk, both of whom started as freshman last season and coach Liebelt has a core to rebuild with.
Both Seidl and Brunk stand six-foot-one with Seidl putting up 5.9 points and 2.25 rebounds per game last season while Brunk averaged 4.7 points. 1.0 assists and 3.6 rebounds.
According to the new coach, “We have only three seniors, so we will be noticeably young overall. Our kids had a great summer and worked extremely hard in the weight room.”
Sebastian Martinez, Keatan McEuen, and Caleb Bigler are the three seniors on the 2024/25 roster while junior Cooper Wiens, and sophomores Gage Sisson and Korbyn McClellan will look for playing time.
In his final reflections on the first season of coaching the Teutons, coach Liebelt noted, “The kids are very coachable and want to improve. We must begin to establish the culture and identity that we want.”
The Teutons open the 2024/25 season on Friday, December 6 on the road at Minneapolis before playing in the Moundridge Early Season Tournament beginning on Tuesday, December 10 against defending state 2A champion Moundridge. On Thursday, December 12 and Friday, December 13 the Teutons will finish out the tournament playing Hillsboro and Lyons.
Inman will close out the pre-holiday schedule hosting Kingman on Tuesday, December 17.
