Lady Teutons Roll, Teuton Boys Nipped

INMAN – It has  been a busy week for the Inman basketball teams and they finished it off on Friday at home where they split a pair of games with visiting Sedgwick, as the boys lost a heartbreaker by three 27-30 and the girls rolled to a 61-19 win.

 

Busy week as the game Friday was the end of a three-game week where the Lady Teutons beat Hutchinson Trinity on Monday 66-32 and Ell-Saline on Tuesday, 42-33 while the Teuton boys lost to Trinity 55-60 and Ell-Saline 38-61.

 

For the Lady Teutons, the win was their third straight and they now hold a season record of 11-5 while the Teuton boys are struggling with a five-game losing streak and stand at 6-10 for the season.

 

It will be one more week of busy as both Inman teams host Marion on Monday, go on the road to Remington on Tuesday and then finish out the week traveling to Little River where the Lady Teutons will battle the top-ranked and unbeaten Lady Redskins of Class1A Division I.

 

Against Sedgwick, the Lady Teutons jumped out to a 16-2 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back in their 42-point victory.

 

Suttyn Harris had the hot offense for Inman as she finished with 20 points. Ten Lady Teutons put at least a pair of points in the scorebook.

 

For the Teuton boys, both teams struggled mightily in the first quarter with Inman holding a 2-0 lead at the end of the first eight minutes before Sedgwick went on a bit of a run and pulled out to a 6-13 halftime advantage. The Teutons played to within two, 17-19 at the end of the third quarter only to find themselves able to make a final push as they ended up losing by just three points.

 

Malachi Brunk led the Teutons in scoring with nine.
