TEUONS LOSE TO MARION 26-7

            INMAN – On Friday, the Inman football team hosted seventh-ranked and unbeaten Marion who  humbled the youthful Teutons with a 26-7 loss.

 

            Marion scored once in each of the four quarters while Inman’s only touchdown came in the second quarter on a 27-yard scoring pass from Caleb Bigler to Malachi Brunk.

 

 

            The Cardinals hit the Teuton defense with 322 yards in offense of which 285 came from the running of Jamison Looper and Lane Smith. Looper ran the ball 24 times for 205 yards and a pair of scores while Smith covered 80 yards on 10 carries.

 

            Defensively, Sebastian Martinez was in on 11 total tackles for the game while both Cooper Wiens and Dylan Larson each had seven.

 

            Offensively, Inman did have 127 yards total with Caleb Bigler completing 17-of-29 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown while losing a minus-58 yards running from Marion’s pass rush.

 

            Now 1-3 for the season, the Teutons will return to the competitive field on Friday at Sedgwick who  is 5-0 and defeated Salina Sacred Heart 39-7 on Friday. The Cardinals are ranked second in Class 1A.
