MOUNDRIDGE – The Moundridge volleyball program had a banner season with a bunch of wins in 2024 before falling short in sub-state, now with ten returning players having extensive varsity game action or starting roles, they look for a run at a state title in 2025.

While Lady Wildcat head coach Bryan Otte has led the program before, this time around he is in just his second season after finishing 9-2 in Heart of America league play along with going 30-11 for the season. Lindsey Begnoche and Britney Stos will assist him.

Good for the Lady Wildcats in that they only lose one senior, Avery Schrag,  from the 2024 squad.

Even better for Moundridge is those ten players who return with starting experience or have had plenty of varsity play time, including seniors Cammi Unruh, Macy Kaminkow, and Addysen Patrick.

Unruh was named first steam all-Heart of America League as an outside hitter while pounding out a team leading 308 kills, 58 service aces and passing out 359 assists.

Kaminkow, a setter, made 175 kills in 2024 which was good enough to make honorable mention all-league, while Patrick manned the libero position and made 337 digs last season.

Hattie Hecox is just a junior but earned first team all-league a year ago for making 223 kills from her outside hitter position. Her twin sister Halle Hecox, a setter, joins three other juniors, middle hitter/setter Aspyn Stos and utility players Brie Moddelmog and Izzy Durst as the rest of the core to build success around 2025.

Looking to find more varsity time as sophomores will be outside hitter Harper Rierson, and middle hitter Mackie Conkling, both of whom saw significant playing time as freshman.

The Lady Wildcats will kick off their 2025 season on Tuesday, September 2 at home hosting Bennington before playing in the Inman Invitational on Saturday, September 6.
