Eagles Earn 7 1ST Place Medals

HERINGTON – The Elyria Christian track/field teams headed to Herington on Tuesday and came home with seven first-place finishes as the Lady Eagles finished third and the Eagle boys placed fourth in the five team meet.

For the Lady Eagles, they rolled up 100 team points thanks to Laney Reiff and Kenna Cass. Reiff  dominated  all three of the distance  events, taking first in the 800-, 1,600-, and 3,200 meters  while Cass  took first in the discus and finished second in the shot put.

In addition to the four golds, Macy Reiff ran second to her sister in both the 800- and1,600-meters while Joy Beck, Londyn Olsen, and Emelie Green ran second, third and fourth in the 3,200 meters.

For the Eagle boys, they finished fourth with  77 points led by Emmitt Neufeldt winning the 800 meters, Ty Romero taking first in the high jump and Blake Robertson getting the top throw in the shot put. Neufeldt also placed second in both the 1,600 meters and the high jump.
