REIFF WINS, 3 FINISH IN TOP TEN

HALSTEAD – At the cross-country challenge meet in Halstead on Thursday between the leagues comprising the Heart of the Plains and Wheat State, the Elyria runners ran well by placing all four Lady Eagle runners in the top ten, including the meet champion.
Lady Eagle sophomore, Laney Reiff, ran a 20:06.85 to win the 5K girls while the senior Macy Reiff and sophomore Joy Beck placed third and fourth. Junior Londyn Olsen ran ninth, making all four Lady Eagle runners medal winners and top-ten finishers.
The Elyria boys were led by sophomore Emmitt Neufeldt who finished thirteenth.
Next up for the Elyria runners will be their Class 1A State Regional run in Wichita hosted by Wichita Trinity Academy on Saturday, October 21. The State Class 1A meet will be on Saturday, October 28 in Wamego.
