            ELYRIA – The Elyria Christian volleyball team opened the month of October with one win and a pair of tough losses.

            On Tuesday, the Lady Eagles hosted Centre and Goessel  where they hammered Centre in straight sets 25-15 and 25-12, before being humbled in straight sets by Goessel, 8-25, and 13-25.

            For the pair of matches, Laney Reiff made 24 digs, dished out 23 assists and recorded four serve aces. Raegan Broadus made 21 digs and Brooke Davidson had 10 kills.

            On Thursday, Elyria lost a best of five sets to Sedgwick in straight sets 16-25, 14-25, 14-25.

            Raegan Broadus had 18 digs and Addie Swenson made a dozen while Laney Reiff dished out nine assists.
