ELYRIA BOYS LOST BY 11 IN SEASON OPENER

ELYRIA – On Friday, the Elyria Christian boys opened the 2024/25 season playing host to the twice defending Class 2A state champion Moundridge Wildcats where the Eagles held their own but lost by 11, 39-50.
Moundridge took a three point, 13-16 lead by the end of the first quarter and the Eagles fell behind by eight, 17-25, by the time they all got to the halftime break. Elyria pulled wo within four, 29-33, by the end of the third quarter only to see the Wildcats pull away in handing the Eagles the 11-point, 39-50 loss.
Ty Romero led the Eagles on offense with 16 points while both Andrew Huxman and Gavin Roberston put 10 points in the score book.
Next up for the Eagles will come on Monday and Tuesday, December 9-10 when they battle Linn and then Hutchinson Central Christian at the Goessel Bluebird Classic.
