ELYRIA’S REIFF MEDALS AT TRINITY WILD WIND INVITE

WICHITA – On Saturday, the Elyria Christian cross-country team ran at the sizable Wichita Trinity Wild Wind Invitational where Laney Reiff represented the Lady Eagles well by finishing fifth out of 127 runners.
Reiff ran a season best time of 20:04.81 in medaling while Joy Beck placed in the top-50 at forty-sixth with a season best run of 22:40.02.
For the Elyria boys’, Mason Gardner and Matthew Robinson ran the 5K varsity race with Gardner running a season best 18:20.57, good for forty-eighth out of 160 runners.
Out of 148 runners in the junior varsity 5K, Grant Huxman, Colby Hall and Blake Saffel ran as a team finishing forty-eighth, forty-ninth and fiftieth, respectively.
The Eagle runners are prepping for the Heart of the Plains/Wheat State League Challenge run in Halstead on Thursday, October 17 before running at the Class 1A Regional 1 in Wichita on Saturday, October 26.

EAGLE BOYS’ RESULTS =
5K Varsity Run (160 runners) = 48. Mason Gardner – 18:20.57 (season best) ; 100. Matthew Robinson – 19:47.41 (season best).
5K Junior Varsity Run (148 runners) = 48. Grant Huxman – 21:40.83; 49. Colby Hall – 21:43.13 (season best); 50. Blake Saffel – 21:44.32; 65. Connor Stark – 22:24.92 (season best).
