GOESSEL – In their final game of the Goessel Bluebird Classic, the Canton/Galva boys showed resilience in a battle with powerful but youthful Little River and scored a come from behind two-point overtime win, 48-46.

The Eagles gained an early three-point, 13-10 lead at the end of the first quarter before Little River powered back to outscore Canton/Galva 12-4 in the second quarter and take a five-point, 17-22 lead over the Eagles into the halftime break.

Canton/Galva managed to chip away at the lead and pull within two at 29-31 by the end of the third quarter and then tied the game at 42-42 at the end of regulation time to put the outcome into overtime where the Eagles then put six on the board to just four for the Redskins to earn the final two-point victory.

Wyatt Collins was the main scorer for the Eagles as he scored 25 of the teams 46 points. Jase Beltz had a pair of three-pointers as he and Lane McMannis just missed double digits with eight points each.

Now 3-1 for the young season, the Eagles have a busy week ahead of the Christmas break as they go on the road Monday and Tuesday, December 11-12 at Marion and Lyons, return home on Friday, December 15 to tangle with Centre/Lost Springs before traveling to Wakefield on Tuesday, December 19.
