PRIEB OF MOUNDRIDGE HAVING AN ALL-STAR RODEO SEASON

CANTON – The Central Kansas Youth Rodeo Association (CKYRA), has but one weekend of rodeo events left for the 2025 season but leading up to it McPherson County has 26 rodeo youth ranked in the All-Around standings through the first four weekends of events.

Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10 will be the finals weekend of events for the CKYRA, held in Canton.

Through the first four weekend of events, Wesley Prieb of Moundridge is having a huge summer season as he currently leads the All-Around rankings for the 5-8 boys’ division with 337.00 points while also holding the first or second place ranking in five individual events as well. Prieb enters the final weekend of rodeo hanging on to the top spot in breakaway, chute dogging and goats (boys) while being ranked second in both team heeling and tie down calf.

Korbin Hogg of Canton is ranked first in the 5-8 girls’ division with 195.50 points while Jovey Henry and Kinley Clinkscale, both of Canton, are ranked fourth and fifth overall with 163.00 and 148.00 points, respectively.

The top county youth rodeo athlete in the 9-12 division all-around standings are both ranked third with Blain Smith of McPherson accounting for 86.00 points in the boy’s division and Lakyn Allenbach of Moundridge is second with 150.00 points in the girl’s division.

Ansleigh Hogg of Canton is second all-around for the girls 2-4 division with 194.00 points.

Wacey Boswell of Galva is ranked second all-around in the 0-1 boys’ division with 225.00 points while Brody Wilson, also of Galva, is close behind in third with 221.50 points. Hayden Hogg of Canton holds second place in the 0-1 girls’ division all-around with 223.00 points.

As for individual event leaders through four weekend rodeo events in the 5-8 division, area youth hold four of the top five spots in the goats (girls) with Jovey Henry of Canton sitting in first, Payton Wilson of Galva is ranked third and the Canton duo of Korbin Hogg and Karlyn Ryan are tied for fourth. Kinley Clinkscale is first overall in pole bending and second in barrel racing with Liam Krehbiel of McPherson sitting second in steer riding.

A pair of area youth are ranked first for the 9-12 division as Keaton Ryan of Canton leads in chute dogging and Lakyn Allenbach of Moundridge holds the top spot in pole bending while being second in goat tying.

Ansleigh Hogg of Canton is second in both barrel racing and goats (girls) of the 2-4 division. Alson earning third place rankings in the 0-1 division is Hayden Hogg of Canton for both dummy roping and pole bending while Brody Wilson of Galva is ranked third in barrel racing. .
