CANTON – On Tuesday, the Canton/Galva volleyball team went to Goessel for a modified quad and took battle with Wakefield and Solomon.

In the first match of the evening, the Lady Eagles struggled out of the gate and lost their first set to Solomon 11-25 before bouncing back and sneaking by with a two-point, 26-24 win in set two. The final set of the match was all Canton/Galva as they won by eight, 25-17.

Things went much easier for the Lady Eagles in their tangle with Wakefield as they won in straight sets, 25-17 and 25-8.

Among the Lady Eagles who took charge in leading the team to a sweep of their matches was Raegan Hawkinson as led the team in recording kills with 22 and making digs with 17. Adi Alcala dished out 35 of the team’s 48 assists for the night while Jayden Orth scored seven service aces.

Other Lady Eagles recorded double digit digs were Jayden Orth and Adi Alcala each making 16 and Hailey Barton making 13. Alcala also recorded double digits in kills with 10.

Now 12-10 for the season, the Lady Eagles now begin to prep for an Invitational they will be hosting on Saturday, September 30.
