Make Sub-State Semi-Finals

The Canton/Galva boys scored a four-point win in the rubber match with Rural Vista at their first round Class 1A Division I sub-state game on Thursday, 45-41.
Rural Vista was the season opening opponent where the Eagles scored a 75-60 win before Rural Vista won a rematch on February 9, 42-55.
On Thursday, sixth seeded Canton/Galva led by four, 12-8, at the end of the first quarter before third seeded Rural Vista powered their way to a two-point, 21-23, advantage at the halftime break.
After Rural Vista pulled out to a six-point, 24-30, lead at the end of the third, the Eagles Wyatt Collins hit six key free throws as the leader of a 21-point fourth quarter giving the Eagles the final come from behind, four-point victory.
Wyatt Collins led the Eagles in scoring with 15 points while Jase Beltz hit three three-pointers to reach double digits with 11.
Now 10-11 for the season, the Eagles will be back at the Solomon hosted sub-state for a semi-final’s matchup with second seeded Sylvan/Lucas. Sylvan/Lucas comes into the game with a record of 13-6 after pounding winless Wakefield, 52-16, in their first-round game.
