CANTON/GALVA BOYS MAKE 18 3-POINTERS

CANTON – At home, playing on senior night, the Canton/Galva boys became unstoppable from outside as they connected on a whopping 18 three-pointers to defeat visiting Herington 87-70.

 

Both teams were hot on offense as the Eagles connected on five three-pointers in the first quarter but only led Herington by three at 23-20 and  held the same three-point cushion lead at halftime at 39-36.

 

Coming out of the break, pushed their advantage out to six at 60-54 by the end of the third before making another seven three-pointers in the fourth quarter to gain the final 17-point margin of victory.

 

While Wyatt Collins led all scorers with 24 points, a total of four Eagles reached double digits and five players recorded three three-pointers in the scorebook. Others reaching double digits were Kustom Schamp with 14 and both Jaden Ediger and Ethan Brozek chipping in with 11. The five Eagles with three three-pointers included Schamp, Ediger, Brozek and both Jase Beltz and Noah Collins. Beltz and Noah Collins just missed  double digits with nine points each.

 

The win broke a five-game losing streak by the Eagles, leaving them at 6-8 for the season as they prep to travel to Peabody/Burns on Friday.
